Market your blog

After you have monetized your blog, now is the time to market it agressively. These are some tips which might help:
  1. If you have not submitted your blog URL to the major search engines do so now. See point 3 of my previous post.
  2. Go to a related discussion forum (search for one using Google), and start participating actively and constructively there. Subtlely market your blog by including the URL in your signature.
  3. Browse related blogs (do a search in Blogger), and post comments constructively and actively.
  4. Make sure your blog is tagged and searchable in Technorati.com. Technorati is basically a search engine for blogs. From within Technorati, monitor the incoming links to your blog. Reciprocate and further market your blog by visiting those blogs/sites and leave constructive comments.
  5. If your posts are technical or science-related in nature, visit digg.com and regularly submit the URLs of your posts, with eye-catching titles.
  6. Ensure that you have a web tracker/counter such as statcounter.com (if you haven't, see my previous post). Then, through the tracker log, monitor where most of your traffic come from. And increase your marketing efforts at those sites. For example, if you notice that you have some traffic coming from a certain discussion forum, this means it is working, and you should increase your participation in that forum.

Hey danchong, I am still having a hard time - none of my categories actually work. Can you check the code and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Hi tahoma activist, I checked your blog. Seems you got all the categories code right, but most of them return no results. Some of them do, like "Local_Issues" and "Democracy_Government". This is because you "tagged" some posts under these categories, meaning that the important keywords "Local_Issues" & "Democracy_Government" appear in those posts. To make your other categories work, you should do the same to the corresponding posts.

You're almost there. Hope this helps.

Hey there, dude. Thanks again for all your help. I am lucky to have so many smart people helping me improve my blog.

If you want to collaborate on any articles for the site, let me know. Email me at tahomaactivist@yahoo.com with anything you've got, and I'll see if it works for our format. (It's best to stick to how things relate to social issues, politics, corruption, that sort of thing. Media criticism is huge for me.)

Hi danchong, popped in here because I'm not sure if my comments on your NetCFT blog got to you - I think I just sent them to myself! (Doh!)

Used your hack and the categories worked fine (in footer of my blog owsblog.blogspot.com) problem is that 4 of 5 work perfectly and one doesn't. I've republished and added the bar and other words to get picked up but no dice - only one result from the search (should have at least 4 and I can't figure out why - all are within 50 posts (I've only posted about 50!) The ones that work are Health/ Nutrition/ Other/ and Foreign (I used 3 words to be searched for Foreign) The 5th category "Orgasm" (oops...but it's not too bad!) has 4 words but still aren't picked up in the blogsearch and I've edited the posts and all the words occur....any tips or perhaps this has happened before?...

Thanks in anticipation

Span
